Food Tasting For Our Moon-Cake Promotion 2022

 Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon-Cake Festival is just around the corner! Sibu market is already laden with moon-cakes to entice  moon-cake lovers.

To catch up with the market and to keep up with  our tradition of offering our very own moon-cakes, we had a session of food tasting for our chef-made moon-cakes this afternoon before launching.

This time we are offering snow-skin moon-cakes with four flavours: Mung Bean Paste, Red Bean Paste, Pandan Paste and Egg Castor Filling

Our chef-made moon-cakes tasted good. We strongly recommend  our moon-cakes to our customers!

Our pricing is very competitive at RM2 nett per piece.

My Birthday On February 9 1986

 I celebrated my first birthday on February 9 1986  after my marriage with Yian. Yian ordered a heart-shaped birthday cake for me with very touching birthday wishes.

General comment was that we were lookalike. Even now Yian still resembles me.

2016 New Year's Eve International Buffet Dinner At Premier Hotel Sibu

 Premier Hotel Sibu served New Year's Eve International Buffet Dinner on 31st December, 2016. This was a yearly event to mark the conclusion of a calendar year.

The New Year's Eve International Buffet Dinner had good response. The highlight of the evening was Lucky Draws which stirred up a lot of excitement.

I was invited to represent Premier Hotel to give away prizes to the lucky winners.

I look very much overweight in the photos. In fact I was almost obese then way back  on 31st December, 2016.

Realising my weight going up to the extent of losing control, I determined to go on serious weight loss programme starting 23rd September, 2017. I had the full support of my loving wife Yian. Yian joined me in weight loss programme to give me additional moral support. Together we did it with success!

Our Chinese New Year's Eve Reunion Dinner At Bamboo House

 It is customary for Chinese to celebrate the conclusion of lunar calendar year with family having  dinner together, signifying family reunion. This is Chinese cultural value.

We decided to celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year's Eve on January 27, 2017, Friday  at Bamboo House of Premier Hotel , Sibu for a change. 

Bamboo House has been serving Lunar New Year's Eve Reunion Buffet Dinner. The response has been good. The serving time was from 6.00pm-9.00pm.

All of my family members  had a good time having Reunion Buffet Dinner together at Bamboo House. The Reunion Buffet Dinner presented a stunning spread of Local favourites and International flavours with roast carvery and delicious assortment of salads, hors d'oeuvres and delicious desserts.

The Reunion Buffet Dinner served by Bamboo House was reasonably priced at RM68 per adult, RM55 per senior citizen  RM48 per child.

Yian and Allen took time to have a shot while Sidney and Pauline were busy with food selections.

It was a memorable Chinese New Year's Eve Reunion Dinner.

 

Fanny Ting's Wedding Reception Lunch At Good Happiness Restaurant Sibu

 On December 26 2014 at 12  noon, Yian's brother Seng hosted a wedding reception lunch  at Good Happiness Restaurant, Sibu on the occasion of the holy matrimony of  his daughter Fanny Ting with Lee Leh Min. . We were invited to the grand reception lunch. The top photo shows Ting's family members posing together for a group photo. My mother-in-law is in the extreme left in the front row. Seng is second from right. Fanny Ting and Lee Leh Min are third and fourth from left.

Yian and her two sisters grabbed the opportunity to pose for a group photo. They look  very happy with beaming faces.

Mid-Autumn Lightings Carnival At Sibu Town Square On September 30 2017

 Sibu held its first ever Mid-Autumn Lightings Carnival at Sibu Town Square.  I brought Yian and Sidney on September 30 2017 to see the beautiful lightings, first time ever held in Sibu. The whole lay-out and setting was creative, and the lightings were beautiful in design and they looked gorgeous.

Yian looks beautiful in the pictures. Sidney enjoyed his time there.

We simply had had a wonderful time there.

Lunar New Year Visit To My Eldest Sister On February 5 2019

 On Februar 5, 2019, which was Chu Yi , we drove all the way to Salim to pay a Lunar New Year visit to my eldest sister.  It is customary for Chinese to pay visits to close relatives during Lunar New Year. My nephew Ung, a dentist,  is not in the picture because he was busy taking shots for us.

Sibu Business Events Committee Meeting

I represented Premier Hotel, Sibu to attend Sibu Business Events Second Committee Meeting this morning at Kingwood Hotel, Sibu at 10.00am. This committee in Sibu was set up by Sarawak Convention Bureau with the objective to draw in more events to Sibu to generate more revenue for hotels and other business establishments. In short this Sibu Business Events Committee is set up to work together with Sarawak government to attract more events to come to  Sibu. Kuching and Miri have succeded in luring business to the two cities. Sarawak government feels strongly it is time for them to do something for Sibu.

This morning, the meeting was chaired by Mayor Clarence Ting. During the committee meeting, five sub-committees were formed, namely Stakeholders development, Destination Marketing & Communication, Product Development, Capacity Building & Human Capital, and Business Development. I was nominated to be Deputy Chairman of Product development Sub-committee.

The meeting ended with a lunch reception at Mingziang  Court, Kingwood Hotel. I did not join them as I prefered to go back for homecooked lunch.

 

Allen's Graduation Day On September 8, 2019

 Allen graduated with ACCA qualification from Methodist Pilley Institute, Sibu on September 8, 2019. We felt proud of Allen's achievement.
