Sibu Business Events Committee Meeting

I represented Premier Hotel, Sibu to attend Sibu Business Events Second Committee Meeting this morning at Kingwood Hotel, Sibu at 10.00am. This committee in Sibu was set up by Sarawak Convention Bureau with the objective to draw in more events to Sibu to generate more revenue for hotels and other business establishments. In short this Sibu Business Events Committee is set up to work together with Sarawak government to attract more events to come to  Sibu. Kuching and Miri have succeded in luring business to the two cities. Sarawak government feels strongly it is time for them to do something for Sibu.

This morning, the meeting was chaired by Mayor Clarence Ting. During the committee meeting, five sub-committees were formed, namely Stakeholders development, Destination Marketing & Communication, Product Development, Capacity Building & Human Capital, and Business Development. I was nominated to be Deputy Chairman of Product development Sub-committee.

The meeting ended with a lunch reception at Mingziang  Court, Kingwood Hotel. I did not join them as I prefered to go back for homecooked lunch.
