UMNO - Internal Squablings Unveiled

A forum yesterday organized by mykmu.net at a hotel in KL kick-started internal squablings in UMNO.

Aptly called "UMNO Post 12th General Election: An Assessment", the forum seemingly was more like a platform to come to a showdown with UMNO's leaders, with target chiefly on Pak Lah.

Yesterday's scene, explosively thunderous, was a rarity in the whole history of UMNO.

UMNO has a fine culture to practise the traditional utmost respect to seniority and rankings within the party. However, when power-struggle intensifies and factious split surfaces, heated words are taken to open with little regard to the party's culture.

BN under the leadership of Pak Lah flopped badly this time in the 12th GE. The disasterous failure provided Tun Dr. Mahathir a golden platform to take Pak Lah to task.

In the past, Pak Lah could conveniently brush Mahathir aside, saying his harsh comments were very much personal in nature. But now Tun's critical remarks are getting more echo and he has built up wider solid base, so much so that the leaders of UMNO start to feel intense pressure.

If the snowball is let to roll wild, it might turn into a crisis in no time for Pak Lah to face.

It is not right to blame Pak Lah alone. This internal squabbles have been building up since UMNO's conception. May be because of dictatorial rule, it looked very strong. It would be better if Tun Mahathir speaks less because actually everything reflects on him Why did he put Anwar away in jail ? Why did he choose Badawi as the successor ? If want to blame anyone, blame himself first. Yesterday made today. Today makes tomorrow. Our parents made us. We make our children. Our children will make their children.

I salute Ex Penang Chief Minister/Gerakan Party Chief for taking the painful responsiblity for the defeat of the party. UMNO, MIC and MCA the opposite ways. MCA partyb President are pressured to step down, MIC said he will be the presendint till death and UMNO said he won't run away and he still won. As whole, party leaders who failed to bring their parties to victory should step down but should give way to successors who will restore their party's honors. I say, have pride, come down honourably and don't stay in shame and disgrace. My views, Adullah Badawi should come down, so are Ong Ka Ting and superman Samy Vellu......
