Meng Lei blogged about some local farmers joining hands together to dump their excesses at Sibu Central Market this morning in a move to burst out their extreme frustration.
I was shocked to read about it and I felt the farmers' distress over the heart-rending dumping.
I understand that the local farming industry has been promised with a build-up of a network in export market by the government. But so far nothing concrete is forthcoming.
Local farming industry is going through a bumpy road. Cultivating export market for their produce is where our government should step in to give them a hand.
I hope the dumping is a silent wake-up call to the authorities!

Sibu Central Market belongs to SMC. So they should know who to look for.
In the U.S., we export exotic fruits and vegetables from all over, but I have yet to see anything from Malaysia. The star fruit we get are quite small compared to the ones I have eaten in Sibu. Hopefully, the farmers will get this market opened up.

Anonymous, for our farming industry to flourish, we need badly to open up extensive export market. The domestic market is near saturation point.
